Under Nissan's model code nomenclature, several model code series could be reused for all-new model.
From 2000s till today, we had seen several models were succeeding the model codes of discontinued cars, such as:
1. Juke F15, model code was formerly used by Cherry (F10, F11), but both are not related each other.
2. Note E11, E12 and current E13, model code was formerly carried by Cherry E10. Both are supermini cars.
3. Kicks P15 and P16, model code was formerly carried by Primera P10, P11 and P12 which were the large family sedan.
Recently Nissan launched a mini MPV for Indian market and selected emerging countries, known as Gravite. Nissan Gravite is rebadged version of Renault Triber and it is based on CMF-A+ platform which is used by Magnite SUV. Its model code is T15, which was formerly used by Stanza from T11 to T12.
Nissan Stanza/Violet was a compact sedan (C-segment), positioned between Sunny/Pulsar and Bluebird, sold from 1977 to 1992 with the model code A10, then T11, T12 and U12.
T12 was sold until 1990 before being replaced by Primera P10 in 1990.
Nissan Gravite does not use T13 as the model code because Nissan wants to distant away from unrelated Stanza, so it starts from T15 instead.
So, never relate Gravite and Stanza due to model code, both are totally different cars.
I may expect Nissan will reuse "recycle model codes" for its new cars in the future, starting from "5".
